Brittany Holloway-Brown is a Brooklyn-based art director, designer, and visual artist whose creative journey spans over eight years in online publishing, with notable roles at Vox Media and Marie Claire. Her work has touched a wide range of topics, including restaurants, culture, lifestyle, and fashion—leading art direction for photography, editorial design, strategy, and illustration. Her aesthetic is deeply influenced by romanticism and the pursuit of pleasure, with a particular love for tactile, textural work that bridges the digital and traditional realms.
As a fine artist, Brittany works primarily with collage, drawn to its simplicity and immediacy. Collage allows her to unearth the discarded and forgotten, finding beauty and meaning in what others might overlook. It’s an intimate process, akin to rifling through family photos or sifting through cultural artifacts, each piece telling a story. Her work blends everyday imagery with metaphor, building layers of narrative that reflect her own exploration of Black womanhood, memory, and sensuality.
Her practice is rooted in a fascination with the past and the legacy of objects—those that endure and those that fade. Through collage, Brittany creates new talismans, reaching back in time to assemble relics into a new language of personal mythology.
